August 2024 Volunteer of the Month - Trevor Wood
Trevor Wood is our August 2024 Volunteer of the Month and will be recognized on August 6th during our City Council meeting. Trevor has served on our City’s Planning Commission for the past 10 years, and for many of those years he has been Chair of the commission. When asked why he has served and continues to serve on the Planning Commission, he stated, “I wanted to find a way to learn more about and contribute to the City shortly after my family and I moved to Santaquin. After spending several date nights with my wife attending City Council meetings, Mayor Kirk Hunsaker asked if I would be willing to serve on the Planning Commission. I accepted, and through the years have enjoyed learning the details of how the City works. I’m grateful for all the hard work of the City staff and the other Planning Commissioners. I am just one of many that contribute to the process and implementation of each new project.”
As a graduate of UVU in Computer Science, Trevor works for NOV as a Firmware Engineer. He spent most of his youth in Orem and graduated from Orem High School. He married his sweetheart, Mayke, in 2006 and they are in the middle of raising their three beautiful children. In his spare time, Trevor enjoys anything outdoors. Part of the reason they moved to Santaquin was to enjoy the beautiful mountains that surround our community with the outdoor activities they provide such as hiking and camping.
Thank you, Trevor, for your years of service on our Planning Commission. Your dedication is appreciated more than you know!
