Proof of Insurance

If you were cited for a No Proof of Insurance charge, and you were insured at the time you were cited, you may provide proof to the court in order for the charge to be dismissed.

ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF INSURANCE

A “No Proof of Insurance violation ($410.00 fine) can be dismissed when verification in the form of a letter is presented to the court with the following requirements:

• Letter on insurance agency letterhead
• Current date
• Name of insured. If the name of the insured if different than the person who received the citation, the letter must include an explanation  indicating that the driver had permission of the owner and is covered under that policy.
• Vehicle description (must match the vehicle on the citation)
• Coverage was in effect on the date and time the citation was issued
• Agent’s signature
• Citation or case number

An insurance card is NOT sufficient proof.

Present this letter in person or mail to 275 W Main Street, Santaquin, UT 84655 or have your agent email it to jcsantaquin@utcourts.gov. If the requirements can’t be met, contact the court in person at the address listed above or call (801)754-5376.

After you have submitted your proof of insurance, please contact a court clerk at (801)754-5376 to confirm the court received it and your case is disposed of in a timely manner.
